Police are currently attended the scene after a bus was set on fire in Newtownards, Co Down.

The bus was set on fire in the Westwinds Estate area.

At around 7.30pm it was reported that a number of masked men, one carrying a suspected firearm, hijacked the bus in Blenheim Drive before setting it on fire.

The bus was later removed and the area reopened to traffic.

It is understood no passengers were injured in the incident.
