15 boss things for your weekend in Liverpool (18-20 June)

We’ve made it to another weekend, the Euros are on, there’s still a bit of sunshine (on Saturday at least) and it’s Father’s Day on Sunday so there’s plenty going on that even Boris’s roadmap can’t ruin.

Here’s our suggestions of 15 things you could be doing this weekend …

England vs Scotland at Knowsley Social

This one’s a biggie for footy fans because it’s the old rivals match so why not get all the atmosphere and watch it at the North West’s biggest fan park? Knowsley Social’s got pods of 6 starting from £5.50pp including a beer, plus live music. Tonight from 5pm to 11pm, kick-off at 8pm.

Summer Arts Market at Liverpool Cathedral

The Summer Arts Market is back this Saturday with over 50 stalls from independent artists, designers, and makers. You’ll be able to find everything from cards and photography, to jewellery and handmade beauty products. It’s socially distanced so it’s worth booking online but there will be walk-ups for each time slot available too.

Treat your dad for Father’s Day

If you’re spending time with your dad on Sunday then you need to get treating him. Liverpool’s got lots of great ways to do that including Bottomless Beer with Burgers at Fletchers Sports Bar in Allerton, the new GPO food hall in Metquarter, and Top Rope Brewing Father’s Day tasting at Neighbourhood Café.

Y’MAM at Everyman Theatre

This new solo show from Majid Mehdizadeh (Luke Jerdy from Hollyoaks) about his own journey into modern manhood has been selling out and getting fantastic reviews so if you’re looking to get back and see some live theatre at last, this is one for your list. On until June 26, performances are all socially distanced.

PINS taking over Exchange Flags

We love how Exchange Flags has become one of the best places in the city for a drink this summer, and at weekends PINS is taking over with a Summer in the Square pop-up bar serving cocktails. There’ll be live music, live sax and live sport every weekend, Thur-Sun from 12-11pm, until July 11.

Book skating sessions at IWF Rollerdome

If you haven’t been to the Rollerdrome at the Invisible Wind Factory then get your skates on (see what we did there?) You might be amazing, you might be terrible, but it’ll be a laugh and you can get drinks and burgers while you’re there. You can hire skates if you need them.

Drinks on the new McCooleys rooftop

Make the most of the warm weather while it lasts and enjoy a pint in the new rooftop beer garden at McCooleys on Mathew Street. And if it’s not beers you fancy, then it’s got to be McCooleys cocktail pitchers, all made with Absolut or Smirnoff vodka, for a massive fruity boozy kick.
