In February 2019, Redmi’s General Manager had confirmed that Redmi would be soon launching a new smartphone with Snapdragon 855 onboard. It may be the cheapest smartphone powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. According to some reports, it is possible that Xiaomi may debut the upcoming Redmi Phone as Pocophone F2 outside of China. Also in last month, Xiaomi’s CEO was spotted with an unknown Redmi Snapdragon 855 smartphone.
In a step ahead, Xiaomi’s Product Director, Wang Teng Thomas shared an image showing the same unknown Redmi Phone with Xiaomi’s co-founder and President, Lin Bin.
The new Weibo post showing the mysterious and unreleased Redmi phone placed on the table is deleted. Thanks to our folks at GizmoChina, they managed to take a screenshot before it was deleted. On zooming-in the photo, it reveals that the phone will be equipped with a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is not a usual luxury nowadays. There is also a pop-up selfie camera housing module speculating the smartphone to feature a notch-less display.
