POINT PLEASANT — Marylin J. Higginbotham, 87, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, in Charleston.
She was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late James McKinney and Dicie P. (Wheeler) McKinney.
Marylin was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the church board and choir. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1948, a volunteer member of Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary and hospital Cuddlers Group as well as a Cancer Survivor who worked with "Relay for Life." She retired as an operator with 29 years service from C & P Telephone Company in Point Pleasant.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Rev. David Pinson of Nashville, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Sherry Higginbotham of Charleston; a granddaughter, Priscilla D. (Josiah) Lockard of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Dinah P. Lockard and Gabriel L. Lockard of Nashville; and sister-in-law, Amy Deloris Jones of Point Pleasant.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant with Pastor Doug Hendrixson officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service, Tuesday at the church.
Wilcoxen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
