Former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is headed to Wisconsin to stump for Sen. Tammy Baldwin.
The two Democratic senators will hold a July 14 rally at the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire, where Baldwin says they will talk about working families and affordable health care.
Baldwin, in her bid for a second term, has been a top target for Republicans. She will face the winner of a Republican primary that pits state Sen. Leah Vukmir against Kevin Nicholson, a party outsider with backing from Illinois businessman Richard Uihlein.
As of April, Baldwin had $7.8 million in her campaign fund, giving her a significant edge on either of her Republican challengers, according to data from the Federal Elections Commission. Nicholson, who has raised $2.3 million had less than $840,000 in the bank, while Vukmir had raised $1.2 million and had just over $637,000 remaining.

But of the more than $12 million outside groups have poured into the race, nearly $11 million has gone toward ads against Baldwin or supporting one of her opponents, according to data from the independent Center for Responsive Politics.
The only contest to attract more outside money this year was the race in Alabama to fill former Sen. Jeff Sessions’ seat.
Wisconsin was one of 21 states won by Sanders in the 2016 primary race against eventual party nominee Hilary Clinton. Sanders won every county except Milwaukee.
