Officers with the Edgewater Police Department said the victim was bloodied in the alleged assault and required hospitalisation and stitches above her eye, according to TMZ.

Sources told the website the altercation started when Lampkin became angered after the alleged victim sat on the sofa she was sitting on and accidentally bumped into someone.

Lampkin rose to fame as a member of VH1's reality series Love And Hip Hop and appeared on the show's first two seasons following its debut in March 2011.

They have their own reality spin-off show called Chrissy & Mr. Jones, which began airing in 2012 and concluded its second season earlier this month.

The altercation involving Lampkin apparently was not another case of reality show theatrics as the cameras were not rolling during the incident.
