Chris Knope

Massillon Museum, located at 121 Lincoln Way E., Massillon, will be adult offering ceramics classes throughout January.

The museum will be offering two separate classes. The dates and times are as follows:

- Open Studio Ceramics, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Wednesday from Jan. 2 to Jan. 30. Previous museum ceramics students may use the ceramics room, tools, glazes and kilns to create their own works of art any time during the hours provided. Participants may bring their own clay or purchase a 25-pound bag at the museum for $15. Class size is limited to six students to ensure adequate work space. The fee for the five-week open studio is $40 for museum members and $50 nonmembers.

- Pottery Wheel class, 10 a.m. to noon, every Saturday from Jan. 5 to Jan. 26. Taught by artist Kaitlyn Gutshall, students will learn to make wheel projects from start to finish. Clay and access to tools will be provided to complete all projects. Children ages twelve and older may sign up for this class, accompanied by an adult who is also taking the class. All skills levels are accepted. The fee for the four-week class is $60 museum members or $70 for nonmembers.

All classes are open to the public and registration is required fire days in advance. Students may register in person, by mail, or by phone using cash, checks or credit cards. For more information or to register, call 330-833-4061 or visit www.massillonmuseum.org.
