Man Arrested, Accused Of Homicide In San Jose

The city's 13th homicide this year, SJ police responded to a call early Sunday morning of a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

SAN JOSE, CA — A male suspect was arrested in connection with a shooting homicide early Sunday morning in on Blossom Hill Road, the San Jose Police Department reported.

Officers responded to a report at 12:42 a.m. of a person shot in the 300 block of the south San Jose street when they located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
A follow up investigation by homicide detectives identified Robert Ornelas, 21, as the suspect, police claim. Ornelas was taken into custody in San Jose and booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after it is confirmed and next of kin is notified.
