There was no sign of relief Sunday as more than 8,000 firefighters worked to contain deadly wildfires across California, fighting against erratic winds and low humidity. Thousands of structures have been destroyed since two major wildfires, the Camp Fire and the Woosley Fire, erupted Thursday, claiming the lives of 31 people with dozens other reported missing.

The Camp Fire started around 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Paradise, about 1.5 hours away from Sacramento. The blaze, which has been described as the most destructive in state history, has charred 110,000 acres and claimed the lives of 29 people. As of Sunday morning, the fire was 25 percent contained.
