Comedian, TV host, and longtime local legend George Lopez has been getting into the restaurant game of late. He already has multiple casino locations of his restaurant Chingon Kitchen, and now the celebrity is taking that concept, as well as others, down to Torrance to be a part of a new multi-brewery and food hall space right next door to the Del Amo Fashion Center.

The upcoming project is called the Brews Hall at Del Amo, and it not only includes Chingon Kitchen, it also encompasses a burger-focused brewpub from sportscaster Colin Cowherd called The Herd. Beyond that, expect a scaled-down location of local seafood chain Rock’n Fish; a poultry place called Chicken TWILI (“the way I like it”); and two different breweries.

The first is Buzzrock Brewing Co., which will operate off of a four-vessel, 20-barrel on-site brewhouse, and the second is a sub-label called George Lopez’s Ta Loco Brewing Co. Brewmaster Justinian Caire, who hails from the famed Stone out of San Diego, is on to oversee the brewing. There will also be a full bar available on site.

The space itself is a standalone building in a shopping plaza that formerly housed a CrossFit gym. It still has the roll-up doors, but now sports an outdoor patio area and visible brewing equipment both inside and out.

The whole development has been put together by Michael and David Zislis of the Zislis Group, which encompasses the Brews Hall as well as Shade Hotels in Redondo Beach and Manhattan Beach, plus the aforementioned Rock’n Fish, the multi-location chain Rock & Brews, and the Strand House in Manhattan Beach.

There is no opening date just yet, though reps for the company tell Eater that the Brews Hall should be up and running by the end of October at the latest.
