It's official. Trump returning to Jersey this weekend.

President Donald Trump is heading back to New Jersey.

The official White House schedule has Trump flying into Newark Airport Friday night after a campaign-style rally in Springfield, Missouri, one of the states Trump carried in 2016 and home of a competitive Senate race this fall.

The president will then head to his golf club in Bedminster for the weekend, his first visit in a month.

Until now, the only indication that Trump was returning to the Garden State came in the form of an Federal Aviation Administration advisory for Newark and Bedminster, which in the past have invariably predicted a presidential visit.

Trump spent Thursday night in Las Vegas after traveling there to support U.S. Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., the most endangered Senate Republican this fall, and was heading to Missouri on Friday.

He last came to New Jersey over the weekend of Aug. 17-19, leaving with U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., a one-time rival, on board. Paul had made an unannounced trip and played golf with the president.

Until this month-long absence, Trump had been a frequent guest in New Jersey, including a 12-day stay in August while renovations took place at the White House.

The president won't be visiting New Jersey that much longer. During the cooler months, he usually spends weekends at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
