KNOXVILLE. Tenn. (WATE) – Knox County District Attorney General Charme P. Allen gave an update Thursday of the officer-involved shooting death of Channara Tom “Philly” Pheap.

The District Attorney’s Office reviewed the facts of the case and included a statement from the medical examiner; finding that the officer was justified in the deadly shooting.

According to Allen, “After review of all those facts we’ve determined that it was a justifiable shooting.”

The KPD officer, Officer Dylan Williams, was said to be cleared in this case.

The Bosch Law Firm, who represented Williams, released a statement on Thursday evening following the press conference that said, in part:

“Officer Williams has been and remains an outstanding officer in this community. He is thankful that this matter has now been cleared by the District Attorney General and looks forward to resuming his efforts in community policing in the near future.”
