The Ring Brothers of Spring Hill, Wisc., put 5,000 man-hours into this 1971 Pantera, ADRNLN, which sold Jan. 16 for $330,000. The new owner is Richard Rawlings of "Fast N' Loud" fame.

Richard Rawlings, owner of the Dallas garage and star of the Discovery Channel's "Fast N' Loud" reality series, paid $330,000 for a custom yellow 1971 De Tomaso Pantera at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event in Scottsdale on Saturday, Jan. 17. The price reportedly is the highest ever paid for a Pantera at a car auction.

The Pantera, dubbed ADRNLN, was built by the renowned Ringbrothers customizers of Spring Green, Wisc. The Rings originally were asked to restore the car but found it too far gone for that, so they launched a complete customization, putting 5,000 man-hours into the project. The car is powered by a 600-horsepower General Motors LS3 V-8 that sits behind the front seats, so, as Rawlings would say, "Let 'er rip, tater chip!"

"We are thrilled ADRNLN did so well this weekend at Barrett-Jackson," Mike Ring said. "We weren't sure what to expect, but we are happy with how well the car did and (owner) Cheryl Brickl is happy with the sale, too."

Six auction firms generated $292.8 million in sales in January in metro Phoenix, according to Hagerty, a collector-car insurance and research company in Traverse City, Mich. Overall, 2,532 vehicles were sold at an average price of $115,729.
