Reggae meets Wall Street this month when the Grammy Award-winning Morgan Heritage band performs at the New York Stock Exchange’s 94th annual tree lighting ceremony on Nov. 30 at 5:35 p.m.
The tree lighting event — starting at 2:30 p.m. at 11 Wall St. — includes performances, the stock exchange close that day, the tree lighting and more entertainment.
The popular family band is made up of the children of Clarendon, Jamaica-born reggae performer Denroy Morgan, known for his 1981 hit “I’ll Do Anything for You” and other music.
Morgan Heritage is still riding high on its 2016 Best Reggae Album Grammy Award for its “Strictly Roots” release.
“Avrakedabra,” the latest Morgan Heritage album (on the CTBC Music Group label) was recorded on four different continents and features Ziggy and Stephen Marley. Built on their Jamaican roots, the group’s music mixes pop, rock, country, R&B and hip-hop into a style they call “Rockaz.”
The New York Stock Exchange tree lighting performances are open to public.
The rock band Hollis Brown, country star Jackie Lee, singers Karen Rodriguez and Jesse Campbell, the Harlem Globetrotters, the Radio City Rockettes and are among the other performers. DJ Niko of Z100 radio and Daymond John of “Shark Tank” are the scheduled hosts for the event.

MARKING HISTORIC HAITI BATTLE
The Battle of Vertieres — which marked indigenous army of St. Domingue’s decisive 1803 defeat of colonial French forces in Haiti — will be commemorated Thursday with an art exhibition, lecture and reception at the Brooklyn College Library, 2900 Bedford Ave.
The CUNY Haitian Studies Institute is cosponsor of “Celebrating the Battle of Vertieres: The Universal Dimension of Haitian Culture: History and Politics of Memory.” The event remembers the key battle that led to Haiti becoming the first black nation to forcefully win independence from its colonizers.
The exhibit of works of nine Haitian artists, who will be present at the display, runs through Nov. 27 and can be seen Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
After the art show, Prof. Pierre Buteau, president of the Haiti Society of History and Geography in Haiti, will present “The National and International Dimensions of the Haitian Revolution,” from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The cultural event ends with a reception by respected caterer, author and entrepreneur Nadege Fleurimond.

COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR
The agencies and organizations offering opportunities for St. Lucians New Yorkers and others — ranging from education and health to workforce training and housing — will be touting their services at the free Community Resource Fair in Brooklyn on Saturday, presented by the St. Lucia Consulate in New York and CARICOM Consular Corps.
The event will be held at the St. Lucia House, 438 E. 49th St. in Brooklyn, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Although there is no admission fee, participants are encouraged to donate new toys to the consulate’s annual diaspora toy drive, benefitting underprivileged children in St. Lucia.
