From the blogger: "Uses one 200g aran-weight/worsted yarn cake and 6.5mm needles. Cast on hundreds of stitches, German short rows decrease every row. Finish with a cute little picot edge. This will keep you cosy on a winter walk. In case you're not familiar with the techniques used in the pattern, I've also done a tutorial on YouTube to walk you through everything you need. To make a DK (light worsted) version, just use 5.5mm needles, cast on an extra 30 stitches, and follow the instructions."

So, I did make it, the german short row shaping worked really well, but the finished garment comes out too small to be a shawl, it's a small scarf. It's very nice and works up quickly as soon as you catch onto the german short row, it's actually only a 93 row pattern and the rows become shorter and shorter, easily completed in a day and the picot bind off is really adorable.

I do love the look of this shawl, and I think I have the perfect yarn to make it. Looking at the instructions I'm not so sure, pattern is rather poorly written, without enough instructions on the german short row shaping. I've never worked a pattern with short row shaping that did not tell you how many stitches were in the shaping part, but this pattern seems to presume that everyone will know. I did look up german short row shaping thinking it was just me being out of practice with the technique, but that just made it clear as mud.
