Aretha Franklin celebrated her 73rd birthday at an extravagant star-studded affair this past weekend in New York City.
The Queen of Soul celebrated by blowing out candles on her birthday cake accompanied by Attorney General Eric Holder, Tamron Hall and Clive Davis during the annual birthday bash at The Ritz Carlton. Reverend Al Sharpton and Lee Daniels were also in attendance at the event.
When asked by NBC how it felt to be 73, Franklin joked that she was actually turning 72.
"She's a woman of great influence, women of great beauty," Holder added. He also told NBC that his go-to Aretha song is "Until You Come Back To Me."
"There is no one comparable to Aretha Franklin," Sharpton told NBC. "She's timeless."
