Jeffrey Sullivan

MARLBOROUGH — Jeffrey Sullivan, 41, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008.

He was the husband of Sandra (Hatton) Sullivan.

Born in Framingham, he was the son of Richard and Patricia (Jolie) Sullivan of Marlborough.

Besides his wife and parents, he leaves two children, Lilliana and Lucas; one sister, Rochelle Graham and her husband, Jay, of Sutton; one brother, Eric and his wife, Tracey, of Northborough; his maternal grandmother, Flora Jolie of Marlborough; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at Grace Baptist Church, River Road, Hudson, at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery.

Paul H. Bragdon

WORCESTER — Paul H. Bragdon, 73, of Worcester, formerly of Marlborough for many years, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, in Worcester, after a lengthy illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years, Lucille M. (Ouellet) Bragdon; his daughters, Anna M. Lawler of Camden, N.J., Penny A. Deal and her husband, James, of Boylston, Candy L. Busa and her husband, Alfred, of Marlborough, Paula J. Hooper and her husband, Frank, of Clinton, Lou Ann Tucker and her husband, Kurt, of Princeton and Betty J. Leonard and her husband, Luke, of Leominster; two sisters, Anna Ouellet and Sis Dumais, and a brother, Pete Bragdon, all of Ashland, Maine; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a son-in-law, Richard G. Duperry of Dudley.

He was the father of the late Christine L. Duperry, who died in 2006.

Born in Ashland, Maine, he was the son of the late Randolph and Sophie (Brasset) Bragdon, and lived most of his life in Marlborough. He was employed by Mass Container in Marlborough for more than 20 years as a machinist, retiring in 1992. He was an honorary member of Amvets Post 1980 of Marlborough. He enjoyed playing bingo and collected and restored used pallets for resale.

Following cremation at Rural Crematory in Worcester, a gathering of family and friends for a celebration of his life took place Friday, Nov. 21, from 7 to 10 p.m., at Jacobs Hall in the Masonic Building, 208 Main St., Marlborough.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough.

Elaine Myers

MARLBOROUGH — Elaine (Garside) Myers, 83, of Marlborough, formerly of Nashua, N.H., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at her daughter Kathleen’s home, where she had resided for her last two years.

Born Jan. 19, 1925, in St. John, British Columbia, Canada, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Anne (Miller) Garside.

Mrs. Myers attended Girls High School in Boston., and then attended Hunter College in New York.

She was the widow of Henry Joseph Myers, who died April 26, 2007.

Mrs. Myers enjoyed the theater, especially the works of Shakespeare, reading, bridge and golf.

Her husband’s employment with Caltex and Texaco allowed them to live in such locations as Libya, Turkey, Columbia, Venezuela, Indonesia, and London, England. She was also able to visit Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Israel, Egypt, Greece, and Ireland.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John P. and Kelly S. (Jones) Myers of Castleton, N.Y.; her three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen A. and Michael Fagan of Marlborough, Margaret M. and Peter Miller of Nashua, N.H., and Mary Myers and Brian Aldous of New York City, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Larry and Madelyn Garside of Fall River, Kathryn Garside of Braintree, and Rita Garside of Dorchester; two sisters, Lois Ives of Nashville, Tenn., and Shirley Zarza of Sturgis, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Lyons Garside, a sister, Patricia Elisar, and a brother-in-law, Cornelius Connie Ives.

Visiting hours at Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua, N.H., were Friday, Nov. 21, 4 to 6 p.m.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua, Saturday, Nov. 22, at 9 a.m.

Interment prayers and burial followed in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Nashua.

Arrangements were in the care of Davis Funeral Home, One Lock St., Nashua (www.davisfuneralhomenh. com).

Doris H. Pandolfo

MARLBOROUGH — Doris Holly (Berard) Pandolfo, 90, of Marlborough, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Westborough.

Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Isabel (Grenon) Berard, and the wife of Nicholas Pandolfo, who died in 1974.

Mrs. Pandolfo had lived in the Spencer area for many years before moving to Long Island, N.Y., where she was employed as a hair stylist. A resident of Marlborough since 1975, she was a member of the former St. Mary’s Parish, and liked to do everything, especially shop.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha Berte and her husband, Joe, of Marlborough, Catherine Tescione and her husband, Stephen, of Ft. Myers, Fla., Joan Rooney and her husband, Thomas, of Brunswick, Ga., and Sandra Hobert and her husband, Christopher, of Mello Place, Long Island, N.Y.; her brothers, Armand Berard of Marlborough and George Berard, of Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Pauline Pierozzi and Lillian Dedecko.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 29, at noon, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Sreet, Marlborough.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There are no funeral home visiting hours.

Those attending the service are asked to bring an offering of a special memory of Doris, in lieu of flowers, or donations.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.

Edith Johnson

HUDSON — Edith (Thomas) Johnson, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, after a period of failing health.

Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Beaton) Thomas.

Before moving to Framingham, she lived in Hudson for most of her life, where she was an active longtime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia A. Nobles, of Middleboro; one son, Douglas F. Johnson, of Princeton; five grandchildren; three sisters, Faith Rego of Hudson, Mildred Bourque of Framingham, and Elsie Lamson, of Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

he was predeceased by a brother, John Thomas.

Her funeral was on Friday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m., at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough.

Burial was private.

At her request, there were no visiting hours.

Veronica P. Hickey

ROCKLAND — Veronica P. (Piecewicz) Hickey, 93, of Rockland, formerly of Hudson, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at the Coyne Healthcare Center in Rockland.

She was the beloved wife of Francis A. Hickey, who died in 1989.

Born in Maynard, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antonina (Polupietka) Piecewicz, and was a graduate of Maynard High School.

Mrs. Hickey had resided in Hudson most of her life where she raised her family and had resided in Rockland for the past 22 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Nina Makarski and her husband, Joseph, of Rockland, and Patricia Young and her husband, Paul of Wolfeboro, N.H.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Joseph, John and Francis Piecewicz.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson.

Burial followed in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Maynard.

Calling hours were Saturday, Nov. 22, 9 to 10:45 a.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc., 50 Central St., Hudson, prior to the Mass.

Mary E. Dolan

WESTBOROUGH — Mary E. (Keough) Dolan, 95, of Westborough, formerly of Marlborough, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, after a brief illness.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Ellen (Fagan) Keough, and the wife of Jeremiah J. Dolan, who died in 1973.

A Marlborough resident since her marriage in 1945, she was a graduate of St. Michael Academy, Hudson, Class of 1931.

She had been employed by the John Hancock Life Ins. Co., Hudson, as well as Marlborough District Court. In 1962, she began working for the city of Marlborough, as a member of the office staff in the water division retiring after 21 years of service.

As an active and longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, she served as a Eucharistic Minister, officer of the Holy Rosary Sodality and the Catholic Women’s Club, and was a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Jude Guild and the Marlborough Seniors.

She is survived by her son, Jeremiah J. Dolan Jr. and his wife, Merina, of Nashua, N.H.; her daughter, Maryellen Dolan of Westborough, with whom she made her home; her grandson, Jonathan Dolan of Washington, D.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late John Keough, Edward Keough, and Alice Kelley.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough.

Burial followed in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough.

Arrangements were under the direction of Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.

Margaret M. Lyons

MARLBOROUGH — Margaret M. (Naughton) Lyons, 71, of Marlborough, formerly of Dorchester, died at home, Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.

She leaves her husband of 49 years, William C. Lyons; her children, William F. Lyons of Hubbardston, Laura M. Olivo of Hudson, Michael J. Lyons of Gardner and Julie A. Maurice of Marlborough; grandchildren, Christopher Olivo, Anthony Olivo, Kelly Olivo, Samantha Maurice and Richard Maurice; siblings, John Naughton of Dorchester, Eileen Weaver of Marlborough and Robert Naughton of Malden.

She was the sister of the late Mary Hurley, Patricia Raymond and Joseph Naughton.

Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Rogers) Naughton, and had lived in Marlborough for the past 45 years.

She was a 1955 graduate of Dorchester High School and a former member of the Marlborough Junior Women's Club. She was a homemaker who dearly loved her family, who always came first in her life.

The funeral took place Monday, Nov. 24, at 9 a.m., at the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough.

Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Hudson.

Calling hours were Sunday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

David V. Marino

MARLBOROUGH — David V. Marino, 63, of Marlborough, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, after a lengthy illness.

He leaves his spouse of 19 years, James E. Chaffee.

He was the brother of Richard F. Marino, who died in 1976.

Born in Marlborough, son of the late Rocco J. and Helen J. (Gardner) Marino, he was a lifelong resident of Marlborough. He was a 1963 graduate of Marian High School in Framingham, and a 1965 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Boston with a degree in electronic engineering. He worked for several different electronic companies in the MetroWest area.

He enjoyed gardening, especially growing his American Beauty roses and veggies. He was a ham radio operator with the call sign K1KCG, and he also made hairpin lacing baby blankets for newborns. For more than 35 years, he flew and taught flight school at Don's Flying Service of Marlborough. An avid motorcyclist, he always enjoyed going to Bike Week in Loudon, N.H.

Following cremation at Rural Crematory in Worcester, private services and burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough, will be held at the convenience of the family.

The John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough, is directing arrangements.
