Where does the time go? At the Women’s Club of Farmingdale (WCF) birthday luncheon on April 12 organized by luncheon chair, Gail McGuirk, and held at Tre Scalini Restaurant in Farmingdale, members and guests celebrated a long history of philanthropic and community programs, projects and endeavors….105 years and counting! Founded in 1913 by prominent Farmingdale resident, Abigail E. Leonard, whose home still stands in Farmingdale and is designated with an historical marker, the club continues to grow and empower its membership. Highlighting the birthday celebration was the installation of two new members, Karen Coonan and Vicky Impoillonia. After signing the club’s membership book, WCF Membership Chair Ann Lomonte and Co-Chair Judy Vilas presented each lady with a yellow rose, symbolic to the club. In March, Lomonte and Vilas welcomed the new members with a beautiful brunch/tea at Lomonte’s home which included their sponsors and WCF President, Tina Diamond.

In addition, the April meeting recognized WCF member Ann Lomonte for 25 years of clubwoman volunteerism with flowers and a 25-year GFWC commemorative pin (General Federation of Women’s Clubs). The WCF Honor Roll Committee, consisting of Anna Ievolo, Chair, Madeline Bondietti, Lynn Connolly, Rosemary Emigholz, and Loda Romanelli, submitted the name of club member Maria Ortolani for inclusion in the GFWC-NYS Honor Roll. After acceptance by the GFWC-NYS Board, Ortolani was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the club.

Epic House residents were delighted to welcome Welfare Committee Chairs, Rosemary Emigholz and Anna Ievolo, and President Tina Diamond, as they stopped by with Easter baskets filled with goodies and homemade chocolate.
