If you pre-purchase the expansion before launch day you'll receive access to all beta weekend events and an exclusive title. Pre-purchasing can be fulfilled via Guild Wars 2's online store.

Announced at PAX South in January, 'Heart of Thorns' offers training opportunities for players beyond level 80, as well as new quests, enemies and professions.

The new Mastery system will allow players to hone skills such as hang gliding, tearing the bark off of heavily-armoured Mordrem and building new collections to earn precursors to legendary weapons.

The Maguuma Jungle area will play host to new quests, never-seen-before enemies, open-world jungle maps, new group content and additional boss battles.

Profession specialisations will remove the confines associated with jobs, allowing players to access weapons, traits, and skills usually unavailable to their profession.

A brand new profession called Revenant will allow players to equip heavy armor and access otherworldly powers.

Changes to the player-vs-player modes include the introduction of Stronghold, a mode where users must harvest resources, hire troops and assault enemy bases. Guild leaderboards have also been added to heighten competition between them.
