LINEVILLE, Alabama -- Central-Clay County's DeAndre Wills has kept his options open in terms of his recruitment, remaining uncommitted as National Signing Day draws closer.
Wills has offers from Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Clemson but has yet to commit, hoping to pick up a late offer from Alabama.
"I'm talking with Alabama a lot more than I was," Wills told AL.com. "They're kind of on my boat now. I'm going on Jan. 24 for my official visit and I'm leaning more toward there. Hopefully I'll get an offer."
Wills made three unofficial visits to Alabama during the season and said the Tide is recruiting him as a tight end.
The 6-foot-3, 252-pounder caught nine touchdown passes for the Class 4A Volunteers in 2013, but also excelled at defensive end.
Of the schools he has offers from, Wills says Ole Miss is his leader.
"But they haven't been talking to me lately," Wills said of the Rebels. "Clemson has been on a little bit, but Alabama's been showing me the most interest. They make me feel like I'm at home."
Auburn once showed interest in Wills, but has backed off in recent months. He is also being recruited by LSU.
Aside from his visit to Alabama, Wills is also planning on taking visits to Clemson and LSU before National Signing Day. In fact, he may wait until after National Signing Day to make a final decision.
"I really don't know," he said. "I'm just waiting right now. It depends on if Alabama offers me or if Auburn comes into the mix later."
