TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has taken oath as the first chief minister of new Andhra Pradesh following the bifurcation of Telangana. His oath was administred by Governor E Narasimhan.

Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal lauded his party's performance in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha elections, and stated that the newly-formed party did exceptionally well in such a short span of time, despite a wave in favour of a 'particular leader' (read Narendra Modi).
Kejriwal also said that AAP is launching a year-long 'Mission Vistaar' to expand the base of the party and consolidate public support right till every booth.
"Time has come to reorganise the party now,' Kejriwal said, announcing that a new political affairs committee will be made.
After remaining weak for two days following its sluggish onset over Kerala, south west monsoon gained momentum bringing rains to most parts of the state today. "Rain occurred at most places in Kerala and at a few places in Lakshadweep," the Meteorological Centre said in a bulletin in Thiruvananthapuram.
Heavy rainfall, exceeding 7 cm, has been predicted at isolated places in Kerala and Lakshadweep till June 10. Kottayam received the highest amount of rainfall of 7 cm.
A day after Union Chemicals and Fertilizer Minister Ananth Kumar said there was no proposal to set up the Cauvery Management Board, DMK chief M Karunanidhi today urged the Tamil Nadu government to call an all-party meeting over the issue.
"It is very very necessary that Jayalalithaa calls for an all-party meeting over setting up the Cauvery Management Board, at a time when the future of kuruvai (short-term) crops has a question mark," Karunanidhi said in a statement. He also referred to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's statement that he would meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 10 along with a delegation drawn from all parties in the state.
Jayalalithaa had strongly pitched for the Cauvery Management Board during her meeting with Modi last week, but Siddaramaiah has opposed it.
Promising swift action in the murder of BJP leader Vijay Pandit in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said the culprits will not be spared.
The CM said that anyone found guilty in the incident would not be spared. Akhilesh directed senior officials to reach the spot and thoroughly investigate all aspects of the case, a home department spokesman in Lucknow said.
"Last night till 3am, we were monitoring. Very senior officials, IG (Noida Zone) Alok, DIG, DM have gone there", Deepak Singhal, Principal Secretary in the Uttar Pradesh Home Department, said.
"It's a saddening incident but the administration and our CM has decided to firstly take the law and order situation under control and secondly to arrest those responsible as soon as possible and take strict action", Singhal added.
PTI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted Chandrababu Naidu who will be sworn in as Andhra Pradesh chief minister at 7:27 pm on Sunday. Modi has also promised Centre's support to the state.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung today held a meeting to review the power situation in the national capital and ordered some strict measures to meet the growing demand during the peak summer season.
After the meeting, Mr Jung ordered that the power supply to shopping malls in Delhi will not be made available after 10 pm. He has also ordered all government offices, including Delhi Secretariat, and universities and colleges to switch off the air conditioners between 3:30 and 4 pm.
"Peak load conditions occur in the city between 3 pm to 5 pm and then again from 10 pm to 1 am during night. So, these measures will be adopted with immediate effect," an advisory from the Lieutenant Governor's office said.

A complicated maze of 338 bank accounts and 224 companies was used by the perpetrators of the Saradha chitfund scam which is alleged to have duped numerous investors of their hard earned monies in various states including West Bengal, Odisha and Assam.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has been probing the Saradha scam under money laundering laws, has put together the jigsaw puzzle through which the Saradha group and its sister companies conducted the alleged dubious business transactions which came to light early last year after investors raised their voice and said they were cheated.
In one of the most voluminous investigations being carried out by the agency involving lakhs of multi-layered transactions, it was allegedly found that "more than 90 per cent of such companies existed only on paper and only 17 companies out of the 224 companies actually had carried out some business."
The rest, investigators claimed, were floated as "dummies" to act as cover for unleashing the alleged ponzi scheme.
The latest ED probe report has ascertained that the laundering amount in this case amounts close to Rs 1983.02 crore and it has identified it as "proceeds of crime" as stipulated under the criminal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
In the first high-level interaction with the new dispensation in New Delhi, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today held talks with his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in key areas including trade and investment.

Chinese Foreign Minister's visit to India has sparked protests amongst Tibetan community in the national capital. China's Wang Yi arrives on Sunday for a two-day visit during which he will meet Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
The protestors are urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss Tibet with China. Tibetans are holding protests at various places in Delhi including Chanakyapuri, the hub of embassies and Majnu Ka Tila, which is home to the Tibetans.
The assailants came on two motorcycles and held the pistol at Pandit's temple and mouth and shot him dead when he was returning home from his brother's shop at Bramhpuri at around 8.30pm, police sources said.
