A tip from a Fairfax resident helped police identify the suspect in the hit-and-run. Taryn Dibenedetto, 25, confessed, police said.

FAIRFAX, CA – With the public's help, police have identified the driver who fled after damaging property outside a business in Fairfax.

The hit-and-run occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Sunday outside 123 Bolinas, a restaurant at 123 Bolinas Road. The driver of the vehicle ran along the sidewalk knocking down trees and garbage cans, according to Fairfax police.

After the mess was cleaned up and the trees were removed, police did not see any damage to the business, Fairfax police Chief Christopher Morin told Patch.
