C.B. Strebeck, 92, of Clovis, NM died Friday, July 13, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, July 16, 2018, at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 2600 N. Main Street. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Kingswood United Methodist Church with Pastor Ryan Strebeck officiating. Burial will follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Grandsons, Clint Markham, Russell Parish, Cole Markham, Brent Strebeck, Jordan Strebeck, and Layne Strebeck will serve as pallbearers.
C.B. was born August 13, 1925, on the family farm in Newton County, MS to Sidney George Strebeck and Ruth Johnson Strebeck. When C.B. was 8, he moved with his family to Artesia, NM. Soon after C.B. graduated from Artesia High, his father passed away and he took over operating the farm with a team of horses. In 1945 he and his mother moved to Portales where he bought his first farm in the Bethel Community, and met the love of his life, Marjorie Marie Cooper. They were married January 30, 1949 at First Methodist Church in Portales, NM. They began raising their 5 children in Bethel, and later in Causey, NM. In 1958 they moved their family to Clovis where he continued to farm and operated several businesses, including Wash-O-Mat Laundries. In 1984, he and Marjorie moved to their SE Kansas ranch. In 1991, they moved back to Clovis where they continued to farm and ranch until his late 80s.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of the home, two sons; Sid (Selena) Strebeck, Clovis, NM, and Charles (Vivian) Strebeck, Kerrville, TX, two daughters, Betty (Danny) Parish, Earth, TX, and Peggy (Marvin) Markham, San Antonio, TX, his grandchildren, Russell Parish (Kelly), Austin TX, Megan (Joel) Moore, Celina, TX, Dana Parish, Dallas, TX, Clint (Krista) Markham, Stinnett, TX, Holly (Daniel) Bort, Ft Collins, CO, Cole (Rachel) Markham, College Station, TX, Samantha Markham, San Antonio, TX, Amy (Jeremy) Patman, Edmond, OK, Alana (Doug) Jeter, Abilene, TX, Ryan (Amber) Strebeck, Sweetwater, TX, Brent (Jennifer) Strebeck, Clovis, NM, Jordan (Brittany) Strebeck, Midland, TX, Layne (Laurie) Strebeck, Logan, NM, Kala (Cory) Adair, Clovis, NM, Tana (Dustin) Althaus, Kerrville, TX, 36 great-grandchildren, 2 close nieces, Cheryl Greathouse Flagg, and Elaine Greathouse Fallis, and nephew, Neil Greathouse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney George Strebeck and Ruth Strebeck Minick, sister, Delores Greathouse, and daughter, Sharon Strebeck Wilson.
C.B was a 60 year member of Kingswood Methodist Church where he served on numerous committees, including chairing the finance campaign in 1964 for the construction of the new sanctuary. His greatest legacy is a family that is strong in their Christian faith.
C.B. loved to work hard, and instilled that same character in his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Always valuing education, C.B. and Marjorie were blessed to help all 5 children, and 15 grandchildren graduate from college.
Family requests memorial contributions be made to Kingswood Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, 2600 N. Main Street, Clovis, NM 88101.

I just now learned of C.B.'s passing. My sincerest condolences to the family. My mom, Edna Johnson Utterback, and C.B.'s mom were cousins.

I just heard of your loss. My family in Kansas sends our sincere condolences at this time of loss. We came to know CB and Marjorie when my brother Larry was employed on the Kansas ranch north of Elk City KS. Prayers of comfort go out to the family
