Video: Jersey Shore time-lapse video captures night sky

Toms River photographer Jack Fusco has released a time-lapse video that captures the New Jersey night sky along the shore.

“Each sequence in the time lapse took anywhere from a little over an hour up to three and a half hours of shooting to create. All of which I was out near my camera during that time. I would generally find a nice spot to sit and enjoy the sky after the camera/time lapse rail had been set up,” Fusco said in an e-mail to NJ.com.

Fusco carefully scouted each location for the production of “Home at the Shore.” Once he found the right one, he meticulously planned the best time of the month to shoot, often filming near or around the new moon when the skies are at their darkest, he said.

The locations in the video include: Ocean Grove, Manasquan, Seaside Heights, Island Beach State Park, Barnegat Light, Sea Isle City, Ocean City, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Cape May, Heislerville and Cape May Point.

In his video post on Vimeo, Fusco thanks all those who have worked on the reconstruction efforts of the Jersey Shore following Hurricane Sandy.

“It may never be the same as it once was,” Fusco writes in the post, “but it will always be beautiful and it will always be home.”
