Dry, but hot and humid conditions expected for central Pa.

Much of central Pennsylvania will get a chance to dry out over the next two days, according to forecasters.

And it will hot and humid, with high temperatures in the Harrisburg area approaching 90 from Wednesday through Friday, according to the National Weather Service at State College.

"Temperatures are forecast to surge to steamy levels as sunshine returns at midweek," according to AccuWeather.

Rain showers are expect to return to the area on Friday.

For Wednesday, expect sunny skies and a high near 88. The low at night will be near 69.

Here's a look at just how wet it has been in central Pennsylvania this summer.

THURSDAY: There will be a slight 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Low around 71.

FRIDAY: There will be a 70 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Low around 70.

SATURDAY: There will be a 30 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Low around 66.

SUNDAY: There will be a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Low around 65.
