Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson got married.

No wonder Jessica Simpson's son is named Ace.

His mom is a virtuoso at reinvention.

She went from a pop singer to reality star, from seemingly befuddled yet blissful newlywed to John Mayer's ultra-sexy girlfriend, and now, in her latest iteration, is the lean, mean, and happily wed wife of former pro athlete Eric Johnson.

The two tied the knot Saturday afternoon at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, five miles east of Santa Barbara, Calif.

The bride, 33, wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown to recite vows with the former NFL player, 34, as more than 250 guests looked on, Simpson's rep Lauren Auslander confirmed. Her parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, were in attendance, along with Ashlee Simpson and fiancé Evan Ross, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren and the bride's friend and former personal assistant, CaCee Cobb and husband Donald Faison.

The newlyweds' son Ace, 1, was the ring bearer, and daughter Maxwell, 2, was flower girl, strolling the aisle with Ashlee's son, Bronx, 5.

An instrumental version of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game was played during the ceremony, Us Weekly reports. And at one point, cheers and applause erupted from the tent, where elaborate chandeliers dangled overhead.

"We are overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment," the newlyweds told People in an exclusive statement on Saturday. "To say 'I do' in front of family, friends and, most importantly, our children has been the happiest moment of our lives."

"I can't wait to marry you!!! Best 4yrs of my life!!!," Simpson wrote on May 22 on Instagram, which serves as an ode to her seemingly idyllic family life in Los Angeles.

In May, while attending the White House Correspondents Dinner as the guest of USA TODAY, Simpson revealed that she was close to her I dos. "I've been very picky on how I want everything to look and feel," said Simpson, who split from first husband Nick Lachey in November 2005.

And no, this wasn't an intimate affair. "Eric's family alone is almost 90 people, so it'll definitely be a big event," she told us.

Her music career aside, Simpson serves as a Weight Watchers spokesperson. Her physical transformation after having two kids has been nothing short of stunning. And in a world of here today, bankrupt tomorrow celebrity clothing lines, Simpson's affordable shoes and attire have netted more than a billion dollars in retail sales, according to WWD.

But expect more music from the Sweet Kisses singer. She's building a studio in her home and is ready to get back to her day job. "I want to see what comes out. It's time for me to find that out, and I can't wait for my kids to experience that with me. Even Eric. He's never seen me perform onstage," she told us in May.
