According to WBO president Paco Valcarcel, Chris Avalos has withdrawn from his junior featherweight title shot against Guillermo Rigondeaux.

"Chris Avalos apparently pulls out from Rigondeaux fight," Valcarcel tweeted. "WBO Championship Committee to make determination tomorrow on Rigondeaux mandatory."

The bout was scheduled for Nov. 22 in either Miami or the Dominican Republic, and was going to be televised on UniMas.

The reasons for Avalos pulling out are unclear. Per the rules of the purse bid, which Rigondeaux promoter Caribe won, Avalos was goign to earn $79,444.45 as the mandatory challenger.

Unbeaten Filipino Genesis Servania and Top Rank's Jessie Magaleno are the next two available contenders, in order. Servania has no fight scheduled, but Magdaleno is set to fight Erik Ruiz on Oct. 25.
