The late-night television trifecta is complete. Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats have appeared on Fallon, Conan and now, Colbert.
No apologies for those fans expecting for an encore performance of “S.O.B.” Instead, on Monday night, the Stax-signed act flexed their muscles on their debut album’s opening track, “I Need Never Get Old.”
The cohesive display from some Denver’s proudest musical sons captured a time when an 8-track was a distant idea. Rateliff provided his gruff croon with the horn section laying a shiny red bow on top. However, keys man, Mark Schusterman, set the tempo that rounded out the well-polished act.
