There’s new life at the old Beso space in Hollywood, as none other than former Real Housewives of Miami guest star Romain Zago is set to open up a new project at the property on Hollywood Boulevard. Zago was most famously married to Joanna Krupa in a will-they-won’t-they plotline that carried the show for years, but is also a nightlife impresario of his own, having successfully operated Mynt Ultralounge in Miami Beach.

Not much is known about the nature of Zago’s upcoming project in Hollywood. Eater has learned that, back in September, an LLC bearing Zago’s initials went through escrow on the building at the corner of Hollywood and Ivar. Then just last month an ABC license was pulled for the property which also showed Zago’s name, and there’s also some city planning paperwork calling for a conditional use permit to operate as a nightclub/lounge. That means a full bar, plus some food, with room for a dance floor and patio spread across nearly 10,000 square feet. Eater has previously reached out to Zago via Mynt Ultralounge, but has not heard back.

Hopefully Zago’s next iteration of the space can catch on, as the previous short-lived tenant Viva Hollywood managed to make it only a year or so. Before that it was Eva Longoria’s Beso, but that club shuttered in 2016 after an eight-year run amidst legal woes and other rumors. The area has otherwise been on the come up of late, as places like upscale steakhouse and brasserie APL take hold just a block away. Got more info on what’s to come at the former Beso?
