An evening of enlightening conversation, music and a sweet treat help continue the Lightner Museum’s birthday celebration after the gala event, Promenade the Alcazar, on Thursday.

In addition to the 70th birthday of the Lightner, the museum is also celebrating the 130th birthday of the Hotel Alcazar. Live music will be provided by Blue Muse Jazz, and there will be cupcakes for the first 150 guests that arrive. Docents will be available to answer questions in each gallery.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations are requested for beverages. Guests may enter through the side courtyards doors on Granada and Cordova Streets, close to the central courtyard. Entrances will be clearly marked. The museum is handicap accessible and has an elevator that accesses each level.

Lightner After Hours is a monthly event held the last Thursday of each month, with generous support from the St. Johns County Tourism Development Council.

The event is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
