NEW SHARON – Walter Blaisdell Murch Jr., 67, of New Sharon passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Augusta on Sept. 13, 1947, the son of Walter and Phyllis Murch, Sr. He attended school in Monmouth and then in the early 1970s went to work on a dairy farm to learn the business so that he could get a loan and in the mid 1970s Walter started his own dairy farm. He owned and operated the farm until 1999.
He then worked for Pioneer Plastics for a few years until retiring to New Sharon. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, living off the land, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandson Onyx and his niece Kim and her family.
Walter is survived by his wife of 13 years Linda; his father Walter Murch, Sr.; a son Walter B. Murch III and his partner Joel Eastman of Sanford; his step-daughter Angela Stone of Gray and her son Onyx Stone-Ratelle; his brother Arthur L. Murch and his wife Susan of West Virginia; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
