Water main break causing some lingering problems

A water main break in Camillus Easter night is causing some continuing problems as some residents are reporting brown-colored water.

Onondaga County Water Authority officials said the break was fixed Sunday night and flushed, but crews are flushing it again this morning just to be sure. The break was in the Kasson Road area and affected a small number of residents, officials said.

After a break when people turn on their faucet, the pressure may cause the sediment in the line to flow through in the water,'' said Mike Hooker, OCWA executive director. Customers are directed to run their water for a couple of minutes and the discoloration should clear up, he said.

Anyone with continuing issues can call OCWA at 455-7061, he said.
