Chris Young makes White Sox pay, leads Boston Red Sox to 6th straight win with 2 HRs (one after intentional walk)

BOSTON -- It didn't look like a smart decision to intentionally walk Andrew Benintendi to put two runners on base with two outs in the fifth inning for Chris Young who already had homered and stroked an RBI double against Mike Pelfrey.

Young made the White Sox and Pelfrey pay.

He blasted a three-run homer on a 71.2 mph curveball over the Green Monster to give Boston a 6-3 lead.

Young went 3-for-4 with two home runs, one double and five RBIs. It marked his first five-RBI game in a Red Sox uniform.

Boston won 6-3 here at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox have won six straight games and haven't lost so far in August (or since the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline).

Boston took a 2-0 lead in the first inning with solo homers from Eduardo Nunez and Young.

Nunez belted a 90.5 mph sinker on an 0-1 pitch from Pelfrey:

With the count 2-2, Young drilled a 92.2 mph sinker over the Green Monster:

Doug Fister, who has taken over as the No. 5 starter with David Price (left elbow inflammation) on the DL, earned the win. He continues to give the Red Sox everything he could have asked for since Price's injury.

Fister pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, all in the second inning. He gave up eight hits and walked nobody while striking out seven.

Fister allowed only two runs in 7 2/3 scoreless innings in his return to the rotation July 31.
