The band Charming Disaster will come to Oroville on March 21, performing at The Spirit venue.
The Brooklyn-based musical duo was formed in 2012 by singer/songwriters Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris. Their music carries inspirations from the gothic humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the noir storytelling of Raymond Chandler, murder ballads from American music and the drama of cabaret. It incorporates vocal harmonies with piano, ukulele, guitar and foot percussion.
Bisker described their style as ”playfully macabre” with a uniquely theatrical, interactive presentation. Both are songwriters and vocalists. They will perform previous releases as well as songs from an upcoming album.
The band Bowler Creek Bandits will open for Charming Disaster at 8 p.m on March 21. Charming Disaster plays at 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $7-$10 and are available online or at the door.
