COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women's lacrosse team will welcome in 10 newcomers, one transfer and nine freshmen, to the 2019 team, head coach
Cathy Reese announced on Wednesday.
"We are thrilled to bring these 10 talented student-athletes to Maryland," Reese said. "Our program is adding athletic, skilled and committed lacrosse players. I think they're all excited to come in and compete and contribute as we take the field in the Spring."
Maryland added former Tewaaraton Semifinalist and three-time MAAC Midfielder of the Year,
Erica Evans, who transferred from Canisius. Evans will have one year of eligibility to play in College Park.

Seven Terps were ranked on the Inside Lacrosse's Power 100 Incoming Freshman list. Hoffman, Lynch, Rielly and Walsh, Maryland's top-50 recruits, competed in the Under Armour All-American game this past summer.
Glaros is the younger sister of 2014 graduate Beth Glaros, who helped the Terps win the 2014 NCAA Championship.
Seven of the 10 incoming Terps hail from Maryland while two are from New York and one from Canada.
Comes to Maryland after playing her first three seasons at Canisius College in New York. Evans holds the Canisius all-time scoring record with 186 goals and was named the MAAC Midfielder of the Year in all three seasons as a Golden Griffin, while also being the school's first ever Tewaaraton Semifinalist. As a junior in 2017, Evans led the Golden Griffins to a MAAC Championship and a NCAA Tournament berth, leading the team with 108 points (72 goals, 32 assists), 69 groundballs, 67 draws and 36 caused turnovers. Evans was named the MAAC Midfielder of the Year in all three seasons at Canisius as well as a two-time IWLCA All-American and three-time IWLCA All-Region performer. The Canada native has represented her home country in the FIL World Cup and World Games, leading the Canadians to two silver medal finishes and earning All-World honors at the FIL games after posting a team-best 19 goals.
Sarah Ayer
M, Glenwood, Md.
(Glenelg Country School)
Showed versatility on both midfield and defense for Glenelg Country School, lettering for two years after transferring from the St. Paul School for Girls where she lettered another two. Also played field hockey and ran track, helping set the Glenelg Country School indoor record for the 4x4 relay.
Lettered for three years at Marriotts Ridge, playing at all three of the midfield, attack and defense positions. Given the Distinguished Athlete Award presented by the Marine Corps.
Glaros was selected to the Inside Lacrosse's Power 100 Freshman rankings watch list. Lettered for all four years in both lacrosse and soccer. Two-time IAAM All-Conference performer. Won both the lacrosse and soccer IAAM Championships in her freshman and sophomore years. Has a family lineage at Maryland, with four of her siblings and both her parents attending the school. Her sister, Beth, played from 2011-14 for the Terps, winning the National Championship and being named an IWLCA Second Team All-American as a senior.
The No. 14 recruit in the 2018 class, Hoffman was named a 2018 Under Armour All-American. Played a key role on McDonogh team that won 198 straight games and won three IAAM Championships, while being ranked No. 1 in country. Lettered for four years, compiling an 87-1 record for the Eagles. All-Metro selection. Also helped lead McDonogh to the 2018 IAAM Swimming Championship.
A 2018 Under Armour All-American, Lynch is the No. 42 recruit in the 2018 class. Three-sport athlete who also competed in field hockey and basketball.
McSally was named to Inside Lacrosse's Power 100 Freshman rankings watch list. Backlined Glenelg to three-straight state championships from 2016-18, compiling a 55-6 record in goal. 2018 Third Team All-American and three-time All-County performer.
Rielly is the No. 21 recruit in her class and was named a 2018 Under Amour All-American and 2017 Honorable Mention All-American. Led her high school to a pair of semifinal appearances and the 2018 New York State Championship.
Sanchez was selected as part of Inside Lacrosse's Power 100 Freshman rankings watch list. Lettered for five seasons at Rocky Point, totaling 283 career points. Sanchez was a five-time All-County selection and an Honorable Mention All-American, as well as being named to Newsday's All-Long Island Second Team. Also lettered in field hockey, earning All-State honors and leading her team to a County Championship while being named the Most Outstanding Player in the County.
Darby Welsh
M, Fallston, Md.
(St. Paul's School for Girls)
The No. 16 recruit in her class, Welsh was also selected as a 2018 Under Armour All-American. As a senior for the Gators, totaled 41 goals, 39 groundballs and nine assists en route to being named the St. Paul's School for Girls 2018 Athlete of the Year. Also an All-IAAM Conference performer in soccer, winning back to back championships in both indoor and outdoor.
