Alaska State Troopers say a motorcyclist died in a crash on the Seward Highway Sunday.
According to the daily dispatch, the wreck happened near mile post 42, around Cooper Landing.
Troopers reported 44-year-old Aaron Smith, of Eagle River was traveling on a Harley Davidson behind a pick-up truck being driven by a 15-year-old. “The Dodge pickup braked hard and Smith rear-ended the pickup. Smith was ejected off the motorcycle,” AST wrote.
Troopers said Smith was wearing a helmet at the time. AST said speed and impairment do not appear to be contributing factors in the collision.
