Construction soon to begin on The Village at Crosswinds in Phenix City

PHENIX CITY, ALABAMA | JANUARY 8, 2018 - Altera Development Company based in Dallas, Texas and eds America, LLC based in Birmingham, Alabama are pleased to announce that construction is set to begin on The Village at Crosswinds in Phenix City, Alabama located on Hwy 431 South and Hwy 165 (Crosswinds Road) early in 2018 with the center expected to open late 4th quarter 2018 or early 2019.
The Village at Crosswinds will be a 22-acre mixed-use development anchored by one of the top Alabama based grocery store chains, Renfroe's Market. It will be a 40,000-square foot build-to-suit grocery store entirely designed to meet Renfroe's Market needs. Altera and eds America have partnered with Richard Mobley of Bickerstaff Parham locally to handle the leasing and selling of out parcels. There will be two inline retail buildings totaling 26,000 square feet that currently has leased Marcos Pizza and other retail concepts in final negotiations to be announced in the next few weeks. Talks are well underway on the several out parcels that total another 10+/- acres to be developed. One out parcel is dedicated to a C-Store, others to fast food, medical, automotive and sit-down restaurant concepts.
The developer, Terry D. Quinn, CEO with Altera Development based in Dallas, Texas commented, "We and our local partners at eds America, LLC set out to bring Renfroe's Market to our development. The incredible product they have created fits into our strong local, and regional concepts focus that we like to bring to our developments.
"We look forward to and welcome Renfroe's Market coming to The Village at Crosswinds. It has been a pleasure working with the Renfroe family, and we are excited about bringing them to our city" said Mayor Eddie Lowe, Mayor of the City of Phenix City.
Terry Quinn further added, "Phenix City is a tremendous community that at times has been overshadowed by its sister City in Columbus. But, we have found that the people of Phenix City are proud, in their own right, and want to support Alabama businesses in Alabama and wanted a new mixed-use retail development to help continue the growth along this corridor of Hwy 431."
The Village at Crosswinds will be able to not only serve the immediate area around Troy University, Chattahoochee Community College, The Grand Reserve Apartments and those traveling along its main beach artery coming from the Atlanta area and from along the East Coast going to Panama City and Ft. Walton Beach area. It is also intended to help bring good and services to the burgeoning communities of Ft. Mitchell, Seale, Pittsview and other residential developments in between. Plus, Russell County High School serves these same communities. No longer will these residents have to go a long way to Ft. Benning to shop, especially with a gate entrance just down Ft. Mitchell Road. Now, these communities will be able to flourish with having the basics good and services nearby.
