Governor Charlie Baker and Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito brought their “Thank You” tour to Springfield Friday night.

They came to celebrate their inauguration with a few friends.

Gov. Baker and Lt. Gov. Polito were officially sworn in for their second four-year terms in Boston Thursday.

But they made a point of visiting cities and towns across the state on Friday to celebrate.

Dozens of well-wishers joined the sheriff, district attorney, mayors, lawmakers and radio personalities at the Student Prince to celebrate with the two.

Baker said Friday’s stops across the state are all about showing people the importance of state and local governments working together to accomplish more for their residents.

“We have a lot of work to do on energy and education, and environmental policy, and housing,” Gov. Baker told 22News. “We have a long list. I’ll tell you this, if we are successful, that list will be worked in conjunction with our colleagues in local government.”

The governor and lieutenant governor said they are looking forward to starting their new term and getting to work on Monday.
