Philip - who now runs an open top bus tour company, City Sights, in Liverpool - confessed he'd return to a soap 'in a heartbeat.'

The actor revealed that despite dreams of a Hollywood acting career, he fell into tourism in his hometown by chance when his kids came along, as he felt that being a jobbing actor wouldn't work for him and his family.

Philip has three children with partner Amy Virtue, two sons, Oscar and Sunny Ray, and a daughter, Pheonix.

Meanwhile, Jennifer - who now runs her own performing arts academy in Liverpool, Jelli Studios - joked that in order to return to life on a soap, she'd have to 'comeback from the dead.'

Her Brookside character Emily Shadwick lost her life after falling out of a window and spending several months in a coma.

The former soap actor also revealed that he believes Roxanne has had her comeuppance already.

He said: 'And I think, in terms of Roxy and what she's done, she was just hungry to win the competition. She just wanted to get rid of Ryan because he was the favourite.

'If she'd have come out and said that, great. But, karma has come back. She'd had all this and I think it should end with her. I think she's gone through enough turmoil herself.

'Leave that behind, and then let Ryan come out and get the praise that he deserves. He's won already.'
