Instead of classical music, movie themes and Broadway hits will be on the orchestra’s set list this Sunday at the Symphony of the Americas concert.

The concert, which is taking place outdoors at the Weston Town Center, will feature tunes like the “Imperial March” from “Star Wars” and the theme song from “E.T.” The band will also include some classics by artists like Duke Ellington and Cole Porter.

The Fort Lauderdale-based band is in its 28th season, according to its website.

This free performance will feature the full Symphony of the Americas orchestra — which is comprised of about 60 musicians — under the direction of Maestro James Brooks-Bruzzese.

Limited seating is available, but attendees can bring their own lawn chairs.

The performance takes place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 12 at the Weston Town Center. Visit Westonfl.org/events or call 954-389-4321 for more information.
