Police looking for missing 8-year-old boy from Van Buren County

UPDATE 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19: Xavier Preston was found safe in a neighboring community, Covert Township Police Chief Jay Allen said.

COVERT, MI -- Covert Township Police are looking for an 8-year-old boy reported missing Sunday morning.

Xavier Preston was last seen around 10 a.m. Feb. 18 outside in the yard of his house in the 72000 Block of 24th Avenue in Covert in Van Buren County.

Police said he is a black male, approximately 4 foot tall and 60 pounds. He has black curly hair and brown eyes.

Xavier was last seen wearing a light blue jacket, grey sweat pants and green winter boots.
