Duncaville residents face heroin charges

Agents seized drugs valued at $24,000

Tuscaloosa County narcotics agents charged two Duncanville residents with trafficking heroin Thursday, according to a news release from the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

In the release, a TPD spokeswoman said that the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on a home in the 8400 block of Rutherford Drive in Duncanville.

Inside, they discovered and seized 5.5 ounces of heroin, a gram of crystal methamphetamine, a gram of marijuana, four prescription painkillers and assorted drug paraphernalia. West Alabama Narcotics Task Force said the drugs had a combined street value of $24,000.

Daniel Wayne Jacobs, 37, was arrested and charged with distribution of a controlled substance, two counts of failure to affix a tax stamp, two counts of trafficking in heroin, two counts of first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where he is being held on a bond of $3,095,000.

Anita Charlene Barge, 40, was charged with failure to affix a tax stamp, trafficking in heroin, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where her bond is $1,530,000.
