'He made sure I was OK': Kiwi star Julian Dennison, 15, reveals what hunky Ryan Reynolds was really like on the set of Deadpool sequel

Kiwi child star Julian Dennison is being billed as Hollywood's next big thing. 

And the 15-year-old, who stars with Ryan Reynolds in the new Deadpool 2 film, has revealed what the hunky actor is really like. 

Speaking on TODAY Extra on Saturday, the New Zealand born star sung the praises of the hunky action hero.

'He was a really caring guy and made sure I was OK,' Julian, who was hand-picked by Ryan to star in the film, said. 

Adding at some points Ryan would bring his mother along on the set: 'When his mother would come on set...he was really caring about her as well.'

The young actor, who first got noticed in films Paper Planes and Hunt For The Wilderpeople, added it was great to be able to learn from him.

He added the first time he met handsome Ryan was 'really cool,' with him appearing nervous before finding he was a really cool, 'down-to-earth guy.' 

Starring alongside two Hollywood action stars, Julian said: '[Sometimes it was like] Am I even in the right place?' 

The film, which focuses on the wise-cracking superhero, is the sequel to the hugely successful Deadpool, which remains the highest grossing R-rated film ever.

With the sequel rated MA15+, Julian also spoke about having to say a couple of foul-mouthed lines, which led to an awkward screening with his mother this week.     

'I saw the film with mum yesterday afternoon... Every time I would, like, say - I would have colourful language and swear.' 

He continued: 'I would look at mum and be like - I don't say that at home - I'm normally a good boy.'

The film, which centres around action hero Deadpool forming a mutant group to protect Julian's character, is expected to be a box office win. 

The movie co-stars Josh Brolin and Morena Baccarin.
