Maidenhead United’s defence of their Berks & Bucks County Cup crown will have to wait a few weeks, as tomorrow night’s (Tuesday) second round clash against Chesham United has been postponed due to the weather.

The Magpies lifted the trophy in the summer, with Christian Smith scoring the only goal of the final against Hungerford at Arbour Park.

The competition will be at the bottom of Alan Devonshire’s priority list this season as he tries to guide the Magpies to National League safety.

Chesham are currently 11th in the Premier Division, nine points off a play-off place.

Tomorrow night’s cancellation means the Magpies next match is away to league rivals Woking in the FA Trophy first round on Saturday (December 16).

The Cards have the little matter of their FA Cup second round replay at Peterborough United tomorrow (Tuesday) to contend with before their attention turns to the Magpies.

The Magpies will be keen to register a victory over Anthony Limbrick’s side having not registered a win of any kind since their 3-2 victory at Bromley on October 24.

Slough Town's match at Hitchin Town this evening (Monday) has also been postponed.

The pitch at Top Field is currently covered in snow and, with temperatures not forecast to rise much above freezing this afternoon, it will not have the chance to thaw.

That means the Rebels next game is Saturday's crucial visit to table-topping King's Lynn Town (December 16).

Windsor's game at Binfield this evening (Monday) is also off. The decision to postpone the game was taken last night.
