"Our girls can hold their heads up high," said Adam Olender, who along with Corrie Cogan, coached the 8A Saints team. "It was a wonderful season. We brought home two first-place tournament trophies, finished first in the conference, and in the final tournament we finished in second place behind a tough team. I am very proud of what the girls have accomplished. They have set the bar high for future teams. The coaches want to thank the girls for the hard work and dedication. They also want to thank the school and parents for all the support through the season.”

According to Saints 7A Coach Carolyn Mueller, the last time the St. Raymond 7A Girls’ Volleyball team won the NWCC Championship trophy was 2013. In addition to winning the 2017 conference playoffs, this year’s 7A team, led by Mueller and Ryan Ellis, went undefeated in NWCC conference play at 10-0 and finished with an overall match record of 21-2. They won the Our Lady of Perpetual Help 7th Grade Tournament, as well as the St. Collette 7th Grade Tournament.

“Congratulations to all our players on a spectacular season,” said Mueller. “Way to go Saints!”

The Saints 7AA team, coached by Ela Michaels and Angie Ruffolo, finished in second place in the NWCC regular season. The team’s one loss was to undefeated first-place finisher St. Theresa, the team they avenged in the playoffs to win the championship.

“What a way to end it, girls!” said Michaels of the NWCC 7AA Championship. “Each girl should be so proud of what they achieved as a team.”

The 7AA Saints finished second in both the Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Collette 7th Grade tournaments behind the 7A St. Raymond team. In the OLPH tournament, the St. Raymond 7AA team won a thrilling match against the school’s 7A team, sending the 7A Saints to the consolation bracket. Two games later in that same tournament, the two St. Raymond teams faced each other again, with the 7A team coming out on top to win the first-place trophy.
