Total Health Chiropractic is excited to welcome Chris Topel, D.C., as clinical director and treating chiropractor at its Fort Oglethorpe location. Dr. Topel brings a wealth of experience in treating sports-related injuries to the practice, having worked with athletes at the local, regional, national and international levels including the Ironman, World Triathlon Championship, U.S. Track & Field, and the Olympic Games.

“I’m very excited to be joining the doctors and staff at Total Health Chiropractic in serving people who seek the very best in chiropractic care in our area,” said Dr. Topel. “My approach is to treat the person as a whole and not simply treat the symptoms. That’s why we develop individualized and comprehensive treatment plans with the goal of restoring optimal functional ability for every patient.”

Dr. Topel attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo., where he majored in pre-medicine studies. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Logan University in Chesterfield, Missouri. Before coming to Total Health Chiropractic in May, Dr. Topel served as chief operating officer for Northside Neighborhood House, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the independence of residents north of the river in Chattanooga by providing a hand up through education and assistance.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always been involved in helping others make positive lifestyle choices. I really enjoy talking with people to fully understand the causes and symptoms of their condition before recommending positive steps that help facilitate their healing process,” said Dr. Topel. “My primary objectives are to help reduce pain, restore function and educate my patients on how to live a healthier lifestyle.”

In addition to his work in chiropractic care, Dr. Topel is an active member of the community, participating in the Leadership Chattanooga class of 2016-2017, serving as president-elect for the Southside Council-Chamber of Commerce and as a committee member for the Small Business Awards selection process with the Chattanooga Chamber. He’s also a member of the Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition board of directors and participates in the Co.Lab Mentorship-Accelerator program in addition to numerous other community activities.

“Dr. Topel has nearly 30 years of experience in sports-related chiropractic care, and we are thrilled at the expertise he is bringing to our company and to the people who live in the North Georgia area,” says Dominick Tomasino, owner of Total Health Chiropractic. “His ‘whole body’ approach to health and wellness, his knowledge of the latest chiropractic techniques, and his interest in exercise and nutrition make him uniquely equipped to help patients feel better and remain healthy for life.”
