Chris Hardwick's late-night series @midnight has been picked up for a full season by Comedy Central.

Hardwick announced on the show on Thursday (November 15) that @midnight will return for a 40-week run beginning on January 6.

"This was an experiment we did for a month, you guys watch, you join in the [game] #HashtagWars, and we are so, so, so, so grateful," the comic told viewers.

@midnight premiered in October as the latest addition to Comedy Central's late-night lineup, along with The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

This is one of several television programmes currently featuring Hardwick across various networks.

Hardwick also hosts the Walking Dead wrap-up show Talking Dead on AMC, and his show The Nerdist airs on BBC America.
