South End Parish Cafe To Close

Some good news and some bad news about Parish Cafe according to Boston Eater.

SOUTH END, MA — After eight years in business at the corner of Mass Ave and Tremont, the Parish Cafe's second location is set to close. Fans of Parish's rotating list of sandwiches, concocted by chefs across Boston need not fret just yet. The Back Bay spot on Boylston street is still kicking, with no plans to close. And there may be a new location coming soon.

Food blog Eater Boston reported it got the word straight from co-owner of the casual restaurant Gordon Wilcox.

“After a successful run, my partners and I decided to sell Parish Café II to the owners of New York Pizza,” said Wilcox. “George [Axiotis] and I are friends, and he made us an offer we couldn’t refuse.”

Wilcox told Eater that the South End Parish Cafe will shutter on August 21, but is eyeing the Financial District first for a possible next spot to set up shop.

In the meantime there's a B.L.T. on the menu created by Joanne Chang of Flour Bakery and Myers + Chan. You might want to stop by and grab that.
