Luann de Lesseps has jumped on the #FreeBritney bandwagon.

The “Real Housewives of New York City” star posted the hashtag, which alleges that Britney Spears is being held against her will at a mental health facility, over a video of herself strutting down a hallway to Spears’ “Me Against the Music.”

In the video posted Thursday, de Lesseps, 53, wore a white pantsuit, similar to the one Madonna wore in the original music video for the song, released in 2003.

Spears’ fans thanked de Lesseps for her support, and the Countess reposted one of the messages on her Instagram Stories, which said, “Thank you soooooooo much for this. We have to help her. She’s a human being, not some Hollywood science project. Please use your platform to help her.” De Lesseps tagged Spears and wrote, “Sending you love!”

Fans of the 37-year-old pop star created the social media movement to raise awareness about a report made on “Britney’s Gram” podcast, in which hosts Barbara Grey and Tess Barker shared a voicemail from someone claiming to be part of Spears’ legal team.

The unnamed person alleged Spears did not know when she would be released from the mental health facility. The podcast also questioned Spears’ father, Jamie Spears’, conservatorship over his daughter, which was put in place in 2008.

On April 3, a source close to the Spears family told Page Six Spears checked herself in for treatment because she was “having a hard time dealing with her dad’s health issues.”

The source added, “Britney hasn’t been drinking or doing drugs or anything, she just has some very difficult emotional and mental health issues. She’s gone away to try to deal with her issues before they get worse.”
