A Kingman man is facing multiple charges in the hit-and-run death of a 62-year-old woman who was killed in April, the Mohave County Sheriff's Office said.

Joseph Lloyd Whybark, 34, was arrested Sunday in connection with the April 23 crash that killed Krisandrea Lynn Pannell-Cashen, 62, of Bullhead City, the sheriff's office said Monday.

Pannell-Cashen was found lying on the road in Golden Valley, just west of Kingman. She was pronounced dead upon arriving at a hospital, officials said. Authorities determined she had been hit by a vehicle.

The next day, a vehicle suspected in the hit-and-run was found abandoned in a wash, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives found evidence in the vehicle linking it to the crash. Investigators later obtained a search warrant and found additional information to indicate Whybark was driving the vehicle, the Sheriff's Office said.

Whybark initially was arrested on an unrelated matter and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. Detectives later interviewed Whybank about the crash, and he admitted his involvement in the hit-and-run, the sheriff's office said.

He is facing felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing death, failure to stay at the scene causing death, tampering with evidence and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license, officials said.
